The project was for a customer cutting ribbons of plastic off of their forming drum. The drum is completely enclosed in guarding and the operators need to adjust the widths of the ribbons while the forming drums were operating. The knives are essentially pizza cutters that are located underneath of the forming drum. We used non rotation cylinders and attached it to the lead screw table supplied by Igus.

The product made it easier for us to have the operators adjust the knives while the process was in operation.
Solutions:
We used the powered lead screw tables

Forming drum is completely guarded, no access for the operators to manually adjust knives
