Apostore GmbH – Pick & Place System for healthcare goods

igu-award-adm | July 23, 2020

Apostore’s pick-and-place system consists of a robot cell and a supply system for feeding in healthcare-sector bulk goods. The robot cell contains a robolink controlled with a Beckhoff control system. The control system is connected to a Pickit3D 3D sensor. Together, all this makes a true bin-picking solution.

The system will be used first in a chemist in Vienna.

Problem:
Apostore achieved various project objectives with this system:

  • The customer was looking for a 24/7 solution for filling his Apostore vending machines.
  • Conventional systems were not compact enough, their product ranges were limited or they were too slow.
  • The product was not to exceed €50,000 in the UK.

Solution:
The personnel required to fill the vending machines was reduced to zero. Delivery can be moved outside operating hours. The system is more than twice as fast as systems available on the market. The consistent use of robotics eliminates incoming goods processing errors.
