igus bearings were used in the construction of an ODO Play printer to drive its arms: drylin T TS-04-09 guide plus TW-04-09 trolley.
ODO Play printer, made by Polish Infinum 3D company, was created primarily for education and small design studios. Intuitive operation, simplicity and reliability as well as the attractive appearance stirred a lot of interest among educational institutions and micro and small businesses. Thanks to its enclosed design, it is fully secure allowing its use in educational establishments. Advantages are: copyrighted design solutions, above all in electronics, which are not encountered in devices in this price category, fully automated calibration system for the working table, pause function for safety and ensuring convenience during filament replacement, a set of support tools, micro SD card and working table with a layer of CoroPad.
Problem:
The main problem that drew us towards igus products and exactly this solution, was facing enormous requirements of the consumer market, which is long service life of components and the entire device, as well as erroneous operation by users. The need to design a device that requires no specialised knowledge with regard to its operation and special operational restrictions. The solution in the form of an igus guide and trolley turned out to be the perfect way out of a dozen-odd options that we took into account.
Solution:
We wanted solutions with a long service life, no lubrication, maintenance-free operation and low price. All these aspects are met by igus solutions.
