The TruLifter concept is a comprehensive, intelligent solution for an interface between drylin® E toothed belt axes and Universal Robots machines. It allows reliable, flexible automation of collaborating Universal Robots machines in logistics and production processes and, among other things, serves as the ideal range extension for all handling applications that require long distances. The TruLifter interface gives you a complete solution – tailored specifically to your requirements.
Problem:
A linear axis to extend a robot’s operating range is an investment that usually entails long, expensive commissioning. Tailoring is usually extremely expensive, assuming it is possible at all.
In addition to mechanical design and calculation, there are additional costs for developing the linear axis and for programming, which also takes a great deal of time.
Altogether, integration costs of €8,000 to €20,000 can accrue.
The only alternative to increasing the operating range of a single robot is to order several robots, and because robots cost a great deal (a UR10 robot costs about €33,000), this can be very expensive indeed.
Solution:
The TruLifter concept, which consists of:
– the high-performance, cost-effective drylin® E toothed belt axis system
– the TruLifter drive controller/motor unit (with an igus drylin® dryve controller since 1/6/2020)
– TruLifter URCaps Software plug-in for Universal Robots machine control systems,
allows extending robot operating ranges with a cost-effective, “out-of-the-box” solution.
This saves between €3,000 and €15,000, depending on axis length, travel and special equipment (such as a human-robot collaboration expansion).
The igus drylin® E toothed belt axis’s energy efficiency and low weight, create new potential uses, including on AGVs (see appendix).
