Our entry is Dick, a non chemical agricultural weeding robot. Dick identifies individual weeds and then moves an arm to the weed and puts thousands of volts through the weed killing the whole weed and the roots leaving the crop alone. Dick will be initially used on arable farms in a wheat crop.

Working in agriculture the environment is dusty, muddy and wet which gives wear and maintenance issues and positioning a probe accurately requires good feedback and control and the minimum amount of play.
Requirements:
We used the arms to move the probe to the weed. The arms were a ready made solution that was accurate fast able to operate in agricultural conditions at the same voltage as our robots.
